Mon Dec 09 20:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Former Miami QB Tyler Van Dyke Enters Transfer Portal After Injury-Shortened Season at Wisconsin
**MADISON, WI –** Wisconsin Badgers quarterback Tyler Van Dyke is entering the NCAA transfer portal, ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported. The news comes after a disappointing and injury-plagued season for the 23-year-old, who tore his ACL in September.
Van Dyke, a former four-star recruit and standout at Miami, transferred to Wisconsin prior to the 2023 season. Despite a promising start, winning his first two starts for the Badgers, his season was cut short by the injury. In three games played, he amassed 422 passing yards and one touchdown. His overall record at Wisconsin was 2-0 in the games he completed.
During his four years at Miami, Van Dyke displayed significant talent, throwing for 7,469 yards and 54 touchdowns. His departure leaves the Badgers facing a quarterback competition heading into next season. Braedyn Locke, who stepped in after Van Dyke’s injury, will likely be a contender for the starting role after throwing for 1,936 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions.
Wisconsin finished the 2023 season with a 5-7 record, placing them 12th in the Big Ten. Van Dyke’s transfer will undoubtedly reshape the Badgers’ offensive plans for the upcoming year.
