**Bengaluru, December 10, 2024** – The Malleswaram police are intensifying their investigation into a scam involving the blocking of engineering college seats. Notices have been issued to three prominent engineering colleges – BMS College of Engineering, Akash Institute of Engineering and Technology, and New Horizon College of Engineering – demanding details of admissions and unfilled seats over the past three years.
These colleges are named in a First Information Report (FIR) as alleged beneficiaries of the scam, which police suspect involved the colleges intentionally blocking management quota seats. Ten individuals, including an outsourced employee of the Karnataka Examinations Authority, were arrested last Tuesday in connection with the racket. Authorities believe the group may have engaged in similar fraudulent activities in other professional courses. The investigation is ongoing.
