**Jewar, Uttar Pradesh (December 9, 2024)** – The Noida International Airport (NIA) at Jewar successfully completed its validation flight today, a major step towards obtaining its aerodrome license and commencing commercial operations. The test flight, conducted by an IndiGo A320 aircraft in the presence of Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, verified the airport’s navigational aids, air traffic control systems, and adherence to stringent safety standards.

The flight tested the airport’s approach procedures, including Required Navigation Performance (RNP) and Instrument Landing System (ILS) capabilities. According to NIA CEO Christoph Schnellmann, this milestone demonstrates the airport’s readiness for commercial operations. The airport operator will now submit the necessary documentation to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for aerodrome certification. This follows an October calibration exercise for the airport’s Instrument Landing System (ILS) and Precision Approach Indicator (PAPI) system. Schnellmann expressed excitement about welcoming passengers to the new airport soon.
