**Mumbai, India** – A BEST Electric bus crashed into multiple vehicles and pedestrians in Kurla, Mumbai, on Monday night, resulting in at least three deaths and 22 injuries. The accident occurred around 9:50 PM near Anjum-E-Islam school on SG Barve Marg.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the bus, traveling from Kurla railway station to LBS Road, veered out of control before colliding with an estimated 30-40 vehicles and pedestrians. Two individuals died at the scene, and a third succumbed to their injuries at Bhabha Hospital. The injured were transported to the hospital by private vehicles and ambulances.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, but initial reports suggest the driver lost control of the bus (MH-01, EM – 8228). The bus ultimately crashed into the gates of a residential society and an RCC column before coming to a stop. Police have cordoned off the area and are investigating the incident. A large crowd gathered at the scene following the accident.
This incident follows a separate accident just two days prior, where a teenage boy driving a Porsche crashed into parked motorcycles in Bandra. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in that incident.
