**London** – Acclaimed voice actor Troy Baker, known for his work in titles such as *The Last of Us* and *BioShock Infinite*, will be lending his voice to the upcoming Indiana Jones video game, *Indiana Jones and the Great Circle*. The casting, however, wasn’t without initial resistance from executive producer Todd Howard, who initially expressed reluctance to use such a recognizable voice actor.
Howard, known for his work on *The Elder Scrolls* and *Fallout* franchises, reportedly voiced concerns about relying on a widely known voice actor like Baker, who boasts over 150 video game credits. Baker himself acknowledged the industry’s perception of him and expressed understanding of Howard’s hesitation. Despite an extensive resume including iconic roles like Joel Miller and Booker DeWitt, as well as portrayals of various DC superheroes, Baker emphasized that he has earned nothing and deserves no special treatment.
However, Baker’s audition tape ultimately swayed Howard. Game director Axel Torvenius described the audition as so convincing that it was initially disorienting, prompting extensive comparisons to actual dialogue from the Indiana Jones films. The performance captured a young Harrison Ford’s essence, successfully portraying the iconic archaeologist. The game, a first-person action-adventure title, will not feature Harrison Ford, who is 82 years old. This casting decision marks a significant addition to Baker’s impressive career and another high-profile role in the gaming industry.
