**NEW DELHI, December 10** – The world commemorated Human Rights Day today, marking the 76th anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). This year’s theme, “Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now,” emphasizes the crucial role of human rights in building a more just and equitable future for all.
The UDHR, adopted in 1948, outlines 30 fundamental rights inherent to every human being, regardless of race, gender, religion, or any other status. These rights include the right to life, liberty, security, freedom of expression, and equal protection under the law.
