It’s then transported to nearby rice mills, repackaged, and shipped out, often with the complicity of police and other officials. The rice is sold at a significant profit, enriching the mafia and those involved in the scheme.
The raids conducted in Anantapur district, primarily focused on areas like Sambepalli and Kalakada, led to the recovery of large quantities of rice stashed in poultry farms and abandoned warehouses.
