**Mumbai, India** – A speeding BEST bus ran amok in Kurla, Mumbai on Monday night, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuries to over 22 others. The incident occurred around 10 PM on LBS Road near Ambedkar Nagar, Kurla West railway station.
Eyewitnesses reported that the bus, route number 332 traveling from Kurla station to Andheri, ran over approximately 22 to 30 people. The bus reportedly became uncontrolled near Buddha Colony before plowing into pedestrians.
Initial investigations suggest the driver was under the influence of alcohol and has been taken into custody. While some reports indicate brake failure as a possible cause, the police are still investigating the exact circumstances leading to the accident.
The injured were rushed to Sion and Kurla Bhaba hospitals. Four individuals remain in critical condition. The scene immediately following the crash was chaotic, with large crowds gathering as police and emergency services arrived to manage the situation and provide aid.
