**Salem, December 9, 2024** – Water inflow into the Stanley Reservoir in Mettur has significantly decreased, according to the Water Resources Department. The inflow dropped to 5,793 cusecs on Monday morning, while the water level stands at 116.37 feet (out of a full capacity of 120 feet). Storage is currently at 87.79 tmc ft against a full capacity of 93.47 tmc ft. The reservoir is releasing 1,000 cusecs into the Cauvery River and 300 cusecs into the East and West canals.

Meanwhile, the Bhavanisagar Dam in Erode district shows a more stable situation. The water level is at 98.90 feet (full capacity: 105 feet), with an inflow of 1,259 cusecs. The dam is releasing 2,300 cusecs into the Lower Bhavani Project canal. Storage stands at 27.87 tmc ft, against a full capacity of 32.80 tmc ft.
