**Dindigul, December 7, 2024** – Three boys tragically drowned in an abandoned oorani (tank) near Sanarpatti in Dindigul district on Saturday. The victims, identified as Gokul (13), Yadeshwar (10), and Tanglin Inbaraj (10), were friends residing in Kosavapatti. They had gone swimming in the Babykulam oorani, an abandoned water body in their neighborhood.
According to Sanarpatti Police, preliminary investigations suggest that one boy encountered difficulty in the deeper section of the tank and cried for help. Two of his friends attempted to rescue him, but all three drowned. Their bodies were recovered and sent to the Government Dindigul Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police are currently investigating the incident.
