Jayaraj, granted police protection to give his statement, told the Neyyattinkara Additional District Sessions Court that his son revealed on October 22, 2022, that Greeshma had laced an Ayurvedic tonic with an unknown substance, causing him illness. Sharon, a resident of Muriyankara near Parassala, succumbed to multiple-organ failure on October 25, 2022, after allegedly ingesting paraquat, a herbicide, given to him by the accused on October 14, 2022.
