**Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh –** Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Y. S. Sharmila has welcomed the state government’s formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe alleged rice smuggling but criticized Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s inaction on the Jagan-Adani bribery case.
In a social media post on Saturday, Sharmila questioned Naidu’s reluctance to investigate former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s alleged acceptance of a ₹1,750 crore bribe from the Adani Group in a solar power deal. She further demanded clarification on whether Naidu himself received a bribe for his silence on the matter.
Sharmila urged the government to cancel the deal with the Adani Group and launch a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities. The APCC president’s statement highlights the ongoing political tension in Andhra Pradesh surrounding the allegations of corruption.
