**Los Angeles, CA** – Sony Pictures’ “Kraven the Hunter,” arriving in theaters this week, is facing an uphill battle at the box office. Early projections suggest a disappointing opening weekend gross of between $16 million and $24 million, putting it in a neck-and-neck race with the animated “The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim,” which is also predicted to earn between $15 million and $24 million.

This close competition, however, paints a concerning picture for both films.
