Sat Dec 07 18:30:35 UTC 2024: ## Kerala Woman’s Lost Phone Found After Cross-State Effort

**THIRUVANANTHAPURAM, December 8, 2024** – A heartwarming tale of community cooperation unfolded in Kerala after a woman lost her phone containing crucial medical documents on a train journey. Asiya S., traveling from Chirayinkeezhu to Kozhikode with her daughter for a post-surgery appointment, accidentally dropped her phone onto the tracks near Chalakudy.

The phone held vital medical information and contact details, leaving Asiya and her daughter in a desperate situation, particularly since they had no cash. Despite attempts to contact railway authorities via the helpline, their requests for assistance were met with delays and unhelpful responses.

However, a fellow passenger, Rasin Paleri from Kannur, refused to give up. Through a series of calls and connections, he eventually reached R.L. Sreelal, the DYFI Thrissur district president, who mobilized local party workers and a CITU union activist in Chalakudy.

The CITU activist and his friend located and retrieved the phone from the tracks. The phone, though with a cracked screen, remained functional. The quick work meant the phone was returned to Asiya and her daughter at Chalakudy station later that night, just hours after their medical appointment.

Asiya expressed gratitude for the collective effort, highlighting the kindness of strangers who went above and beyond to help her family in a difficult situation. The incident underscores the power of community action in overcoming bureaucratic hurdles and providing timely assistance in times of need.
