Sun Dec 08 03:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Grizzlies Edge Out Kings in Thrilling 115-110 Victory

**MEMPHIS, Tenn.** – The Memphis Grizzlies held off a late surge from the Sacramento Kings to secure a 115-110 victory on Thursday night, extending their home winning streak to seven games. Marcus Smart led the Grizzlies with 18 points, including two crucial free throws in the final seconds. Desmond Bane added 18 points and seven assists, while Jaren Jackson Jr. and Santi Aldama each chipped in 15 points. Aldama also contributed 10 rebounds.

The game was a back-and-forth affair with 20 lead changes and 11 ties. Despite a strong offensive showing from DeMar DeRozan (26 points) and Malik Monk (23 points) for the Kings, Memphis managed to maintain a narrow lead in the final minutes. De’Aaron Fox added 18 points for Sacramento, and Domantas Sabonis contributed 17 points and 13 rebounds. The Kings, who lost their seventh game in nine outings, struggled to contain Memphis’s three-point shooting, hitting only 8 of 35 attempts from beyond the arc compared to Memphis’s 13 of 38.

Grizzlies star Ja Morant was ejected in the fourth quarter after accumulating two technical fouls for complaining about calls. Despite this, and a high turnover count (22 turnovers leading to 29 Kings points), Memphis managed to prevail thanks to their superior three-point accuracy and clutch performances from Smart and Bane. The Kings’ advantage in offensive rebounds (16-9) ultimately proved insufficient to overcome the Grizzlies’ late-game execution. The Kings travel to San Antonio on Friday, while the Grizzlies face the Boston Celtics on Saturday.
