**Belagavi, December 7, 2024** – Karnataka Minister Santosh Lad has affirmed a consensus within the Congress party regarding the new policy on recognizing minority education institutions. Speaking to reporters in Hubballi on Saturday, Mr. Lad stated that all ministers were consulted before the decision was made and that any disagreements are individual opinions, not representative of the party’s stance. He denied reports of internal factions within the Congress, reiterating the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister’s previous statements on the matter.

Mr. Lad also addressed other issues, stating that he had no information on potential cabinet expansion, but that the party high command would make the decision. He expressed confidence that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah would serve a full five-year term. He voiced support for a separate city corporation for Dharwad and indicated that the Labour Department would take steps to prevent the cancellation of genuine labour cards during a crackdown on fraudulent ones.
