Sun Dec 08 15:52:47 UTC 2024: ## Two Arrested for Forgery in Udupi Court Case; Cloth Merchant Defrauded in Cybercrime

**Mangaluru, December 8, 2024** – Udupi Town Police have arrested two individuals, M.I. Ibrahim and A.K. Hamid, for allegedly forging Aadhaar cards to act as sureties in a criminal case before the Udupi Additional and Sessions cum fast-track court. The arrests followed a complaint by S. Abbas, CEO of the Udupi District Court, who discovered discrepancies between the Aadhaar cards presented by the accused in this and previous court cases. The police have registered cases of cheating and forgery against Ibrahim and Hamid.

In a separate incident, an unknown perpetrator defrauded a cloth merchant, Mazar Ahmed of Mangaluru, of ₹2,49,500. Ahmed reported that his mobile banking account was hacked between November 17th and 18th, allowing the criminal to access OTPs and withdraw the funds. Udupi Town Police are investigating this cybercrime.
