**New Delhi, December 7, 2024** – An 18-year-old scrap shop worker, Sudheer, died after a fight over a common toilet in south Delhi’s Govindpuri area. The altercation, which occurred late Friday night, involved Sudheer and his brother, Prem, and a family living in the same building.
Police reported that the fight erupted after Sudheer objected to the Bhikam Singh family’s failure to flush the shared toilet. The Singh family, including Bhikam Singh, his wife, and three sons, allegedly attacked Sudheer and his brother with knives and rods, inflicting multiple stab wounds. Sudheer succumbed to his injuries at the hospital, while Prem remains under treatment. A friend, Sagar, was discharged.
According to neighbours, the Singh family subsequently called the police, claiming their mother had been attacked. Police have registered a murder case and apprehended the Bhikam Singh family for investigation. Sudheer, a native of Uttar Pradesh’s Mainpuri, worked as a scrap shop worker and lived in the building with his brother, an e-rickshaw driver. The Singh family, who work at a building materials shop, had recently moved into the building. The incident highlights escalating tensions in the area over shared facilities.
