**NEW DELHI** – A delegation representing the Hazrat Nizamuddin Dargah area met with Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena on Saturday, urging a special operation to identify and deport illegal Bangladeshi immigrants residing in the city. The delegation, comprised of religious leaders and local residents, expressed serious concerns about alleged persecution of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh, citing a worrying situation in the neighboring country.

In a letter to the Lieutenant Governor, the delegation detailed their concerns and demanded strong action against illegal Bangladeshi nationals. They called for a ban on renting accommodation or employing these individuals and requested that Delhi Police and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) remove any encroachments on public land by such individuals. Furthermore, they demanded the immediate cancellation of any official documents, such as Aadhaar cards or voter ID cards, issued to illegal immigrants. The delegation also requested that religious institutions evict any illegal Bangladeshi immigrants found sheltering within their premises. The primary request was for a dedicated campaign to locate and repatriate these individuals to Bangladesh.
