**KOCHI, Dec 7, 2024** – A 35-year-old lorry driver, Aju Mohanan, died in a workplace accident in Edayar’s industrial area early Saturday morning. Mohanan, a resident of Muvattupuzha, was crushed when the hydraulic jack of his granite-carrying lorry malfunctioned while offloading at a crusher unit. Eyewitnesses reported that he was sitting in the driver’s seat with the door ajar, looking back, when the lorry overturned. He was thrown from the vehicle and suffered fatal head injuries. Despite being rushed to a hospital by another lorry driver, he was pronounced dead on arrival. Police are investigating the incident.
