**Thanjavur, December 7, 2024** – Residents of Vettamangalam hamlet in Thiruvidaimaruthur Panchayat Union can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Their long-standing plea for public transport has been answered with the extension of the Kumbakonam-Konulampallam town bus service (A34A) to their village, effective Saturday.

Higher Education Minister Govi. Chezhiaan officially launched the extended service, noting that Vettamangalam had lacked public bus transport since the colonial era. The new route will operate three times daily. The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), Kumbakonam Division, announced the development in a press release.
