**THANJAVUR, December 7, 2024** – Residents of Vettamangalam hamlet in Thiruvidaimaruthur Panchayat Union can finally celebrate the arrival of public transportation. A long-standing demand, dating back to the colonial era, was fulfilled on Saturday with the extension of the Kumbakonam-Konulampallam town bus service (A34A) to Vettamangalam.

Higher Education Minister Govi. Chezhiaan officially launched the extended service, noting that the hamlet had been without public bus transport for generations. The A34A bus route will now offer three daily trips to and from Vettamangalam. The Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), Kumbakonam Division, announced the new service in a press release.
