**New Delhi, [Date]** – India has reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to a two-state solution in the Israel-Palestine conflict, Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar announced in Parliament today. He emphasized India’s support for a sovereign, independent, and viable Palestinian state coexisting peacefully with Israel.

Jaishankar clarified India’s voting record at the United Nations regarding resolutions on the recent Gaza conflict. Since the October 7th Hamas-Israel escalation, 13 UN General Assembly resolutions on Palestine have been presented. India voted in favor of 10, while abstaining on 3.

Beyond its diplomatic stance, India has provided significant humanitarian assistance to Palestine, including approximately 70 metric tons of aid since the conflict began. This aid comprised 16.5 metric tons of medicines and medical supplies, along with a $5 million contribution to the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in 2024. Further shipments of 65 tons of medical supplies were delivered to UNRWA and the Palestinian Ministry of Health in October and November 2024.

The Ministry of External Affairs highlighted India’s extensive diplomatic efforts to restore peace in the region, including high-level discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Foreign Minister Jaishankar with Israeli and Palestinian leaders. This included a meeting between Prime Minister Modi and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas at the Summit of the Future in New York on September 22nd, where they called for a ceasefire, release of hostages, and resumption of diplomatic talks. India has consistently conveyed its position on the conflict across various international platforms, including the UN, BRICS, the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM), and the Global South, urging all parties to pursue a lasting solution through dialogue.
