Sat Dec 07 09:28:26 UTC 2024: ## Bumrah Nominated for ICC Player of the Month Award

**Adelaide, Australia (December 5, 2024)** – Just days before the start of the second Border-Gavaskar Test match between India and Australia in Adelaide, Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has received a boost. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has nominated Bumrah for its Player of the Month award for November.

Bumrah’s nomination comes on the heels of his outstanding performance in the first Test in Perth, where he led India to a resounding 295-run victory. He captained the team in the absence of regular captain Rohit Sharma and took an impressive 8 wickets in the match. His first innings figures of 5/30 helped India secure a crucial 46-run lead.

This is Bumrah’s second nomination for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award. He previously won the award in June this year, following India’s T20 World Cup victory, where he played a crucial role. If he wins again, he would equal Shubman Gill’s record as the only Indian cricketer to win the award twice in a single year.

Bumrah faces stiff competition from Marco Jansen and Haris Rauf. Jansen is vying to become the first South African to win the award since Keshav Maharaj in April 2022, while Rauf played a significant role in Pakistan’s historic ODI series win in Australia and continued his strong form in the T20 series. The winner will be announced soon.
