**New Delhi, December 7, 2024** – Delhi experienced its coldest morning of the season today, with temperatures plummeting to 7.1° Celsius, three degrees below the seasonal average, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). This chilly start follows three days of moderate air quality, which has now deteriorated to “poor,” with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 222 as of 9 a.m. The Central Pollution Control Board reports that the AQI, a measure of air quality, is categorized as “poor” between 201 and 300. High humidity levels of 89% were also recorded. Despite the cold start, the IMD forecasts mainly clear skies and a maximum temperature around 25° Celsius for the rest of the day.
