Sat Dec 07 01:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Chhattisgarh Braces for Temperature Drop and Possible Rain

**Raipur, December 7, 2024** – Chhattisgarh is expected to experience a significant change in weather over the next few days, with a predicted temperature drop and potential rainfall in several districts. The state’s meteorological department forecasts a decrease in minimum temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius in central Chhattisgarh and 3-4 degrees in the north over the next three days. This drop is attributed to the influx of cold, dry winds from the north and moisture from the Bay of Bengal.

While Friday will see clear skies, light to moderate rain is likely in isolated areas starting December 7th. A more significant weather event is anticipated on December 8th, with sixteen districts including Korba, Manendragarh-Chirmiri, Bharatpur, Surajpur, Balrampur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, Bilaspur, Mungeli, Raipur, Gariaband, and Dhamtari, experiencing possible rainfall due to a western disturbance. The southern part of Bastar division may also see light showers or drizzle.

The meteorological department predicts that by the third week of December, a significant cold wave will sweep across the state, including the capital Raipur. The northern region will see a 1-2°C drop in minimum temperatures in the next two days, followed by a slight increase. Central and southern Chhattisgarh are expected to see minimal temperature change over the next five days. The Sarguja division and surrounding areas will see the most significant temperature drop, with a predicted decrease of 3-4 degrees over the next two days.
