NASHVILLE, TN – The 2024-25 college football bowl schedule will be finalized this Sunday, following the conclusion of the conference championship games. This year marks a significant expansion of the College Football Playoff (CFP) to twelve teams, incorporating all of the former New Year’s Six bowls. The first round of the CFP will feature games played at campus sites.
The expanded playoff will feature four first-round matchups at campus sites on December 20th or 21st, followed by second-round games at the Orange Bowl and Cotton Bowl sites on December 31st or January 1st. The semifinals will take place on January 9th or 10th at the Orange Bowl and Cotton Bowl, leading to the national championship game in Atlanta on January 18th at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
A full slate of other bowl games is also scheduled throughout December and early January, featuring matchups between teams from various conferences, including the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, Pac-12 (with former Pac-12 schools maintaining their previous affiliations), Mountain West, AAC, Sun Belt, and MAC.
