**Mumbai, December 6, 2024** – Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar led tributes to B.R. Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Indian Constitution, on his death anniversary, observed as Mahaparinirvan Din. Lakhs of Ambedkar’s followers gathered at his memorial, Chaityabhoomi in Mumbai, to pay their respects.
In social media posts, Mr. Fadnavis lauded Ambedkar as a visionary and architect of the Indian Constitution, while Mr. Shinde highlighted his role in laying the foundation of modern India. Mr. Pawar emphasized Ambedkar’s contribution to establishing human values of unity, equality, brotherhood, and justice within the Constitution. NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar also paid tribute, emphasizing Ambedkar’s fight against social discrimination and his advocacy for workers’ and women’s rights. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also offered his tributes at Prerna Sthal in New Delhi.
