**Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh –** A. Surya Kumari, Principal Secretary of the Women Development and Child Welfare Department, emphasized the need for comprehensive support for women and children rescued from human trafficking during a workshop in Vijayawada on Thursday. The two-day workshop, jointly organized by the WD&CW Department and the Help NGO, highlighted the crucial role of counselling, skill development training, and coordinated efforts between government agencies and NGOs in providing rehabilitation.

Ms. Surya Kumari stressed the importance of collaboration to ensure justice for trafficking victims and urged NGOs to focus on vulnerable populations. Speakers at the workshop discussed domestic violence reporting procedures and legal processes, while also addressing the need for improved services at Sakthi Sadans, shelters for women. Government representatives confirmed that training programs are underway for officials involved in assisting rescued individuals, and that existing government orders providing financial aid and rehabilitation are in place, emphasizing the need for their strict implementation.
