Thu Dec 05 10:08:19 UTC 2024: ## Baroda Crushes Sikkim by 263 Runs, Sets New Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Record

**Indoor:** Baroda, led by captain Krunal Pandya, smashed a record-breaking 349/5 against Sikkim in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, setting a new T20 high score for the tournament. This surpasses Zimbabwe’s previous record of 344 runs, achieved against Gambia in Nairobi last October.

Baroda’s explosive innings featured a remarkable 37 sixes, exceeding Zimbabwe’s previous record of 27. The innings was spearheaded by an unbeaten 134 from Bhanu Pania, who smashed 15 sixes and 5 fours in his 51-ball knock. Significant contributions also came from Abhimanyu Singh (53), Shivalik Verma (55), and Vikram Solanki (50), all showcasing impressive six-hitting prowess.

Sikkim’s reply was feeble, managing only 86 runs in response, resulting in a massive 263-run victory for Baroda. Robin Limbu top-scored for Sikkim with 20 runs. Baroda’s bowlers also performed well, with Ninad Rathva and Mahesh Pithiya taking two wickets each.

The victory is even more impressive considering the absence of Indian star Hardik Pandya from the Baroda team. The match saw a dominant display of batting from Baroda, leaving Sikkim’s bowlers struggling to contain the onslaught.
