Thu Dec 05 12:30:42 UTC 2024: ## European Space Agency’s PROBA-3 Launch Delayed Due to Technical Glitch

**Sriharikota, India:** The launch of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) PROBA-3 mission, scheduled for today, has been postponed due to a technical issue detected in the satellite. The launch, which was to utilize the Indian Space Research Organisation’s (ISRO) PSLV-C59 rocket at 4:08 PM IST, was aborted 43 minutes and 50 seconds before liftoff.

ISRO officials have announced that a new launch attempt is planned for tomorrow, October 12th, at 4:12 PM IST. The delay is attributed to an unspecified technical problem discovered during pre-launch checks.

PROBA-3 is a joint mission between ESA and NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), ISRO’s commercial arm. This unique mission involves deploying two ESA-built instruments, a coronagraph and an occulter, using a single ISRO launch vehicle. The mission incorporates several unique aspects not found in other ISRO missions.
