**Hyderabad:** Telangana’s Minister for Women, Child Welfare, and Disabled Welfare, Satyavati Rathod, has announced plans to increase disability pensions to ₹6,000. The increase, fulfilling an election promise, will commence soon, according to the minister. Currently, the state government provides ₹4,000 to disabled individuals, while pensions for senior citizens, widows, and beedi workers stand at ₹2,000. The minister made the announcement during the inauguration of the state-level sports event for the disabled at Gachibowli Stadium, marking International Day of Persons with Disabilities. She further assured the filling of backlog posts and reiterated Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s commitment to addressing the concerns of the disabled community. Several officials, including MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy, participated in the event.
