Wed Dec 04 09:19:00 UTC 2024: ## Arjun Tendulkar Dropped From Goa Squad After Disappointing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Performances

**PANJIM, GOA (December 4, 2024)** – Arjun Tendulkar, son of legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has been dropped from the Goa cricket team after a series of underwhelming performances in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Despite high expectations, the left-arm medium-pacer failed to impress this season, failing to secure a place in the playing eleven for key matches against Kerala and Maharashtra.

Tendulkar, who was bought by Mumbai Indians for ₹30 lakhs in the IPL mega auction, has yet to live up to expectations. In his debut match, he conceded 48 runs in four overs and scored only 9 runs, contributing to Goa’s heavy defeat against Mumbai. While his bowling improved slightly in subsequent matches, he failed to take any wickets, conceding 19 runs in three overs against one opponent and 36 runs in 3.4 overs against another.

Goa remains winless in the tournament, currently languishing in sixth place in Group E with four losses. These failures have led to considerable introspection for both the Goa team and Tendulkar himself.

In contrast, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance in the recent IPL mega auction held in Jeddah, stating that the franchise had secured a good mix of players and is confident in their future plans.
