South Africa, batting first after losing the toss, struggled to build momentum, posting a modest 124/10 in their 20 overs. Their innings was hampered by a poor start, with both openers dismissed cheaply. Anneke Bosch was out for a duck, while Faye Tunnicliffe managed only 1 run.
