**NEW DELHI** – Honda Cars India has launched an updated version of its popular compact sedan, the Amaze, priced between ₹8 lakh and ₹10.90 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model boasts a redesigned exterior and interior heavily inspired by the Elevate SUV and City sedan.
The redesigned Amaze features a sleeker front end with new LED headlights and daytime running lights, a hexagonal grille, and redesigned bumpers. The rear closely resembles a compact version of the Honda City. Six exterior color options are available.
Inside, the Amaze features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch semi-digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and automatic climate control. Safety features include six airbags, a lane watch camera, hill start assist, traction control, ESC, and Honda Sensing ADAS suite, which Honda claims makes it the most affordable car in India with this feature set. The Amaze offers a 416-liter boot space.
Powering the new Amaze is a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine producing 90hp and 110Nm of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. Honda claims fuel efficiency of 18.65 kmpl for the manual and 19.46 kmpl for the CVT.
Test drives are available immediately, with deliveries commencing in January 2025. The new Amaze comes with a standard 3-year/unlimited kilometer warranty. The car will directly compete with models like the Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Tata Tigor.
