**NEW DELHI** – Honda has officially launched the third-generation Honda Amaze in the Indian market, marking a significant entry into the compact sedan segment. The new model boasts a revamped design, improved features, and a starting price of ₹7.99 lakh (ex-showroom). A key highlight is the inclusion of Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS), a first-in-segment feature at this price point.
The redesigned Amaze is wider than its predecessor, offering increased headroom and legroom. It also features a class-leading 416-liter boot space. Power comes from a 1.2-liter, four-cylinder petrol engine generating 90 PS and 110 Nm of torque, compatible with E20 fuel. Transmission options include a manual and a CVT automatic gearbox. Honda claims fuel efficiency figures of 18.65 kmpl for the manual and 19.46 kmpl for the automatic variant. The car also benefits from improved suspension, steering, and braking systems.
Inside, the Amaze features an 8-inch floating infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, rear AC vents, and customizable cabin themes. Additional features include a wireless charger, a six-speaker premium sound system, remote engine start with AC cooling, paddle shifters, and ample storage space.
The ADAS suite, available on the ZX trim starting at ₹9.69 lakh, includes features like auto headlights, a lane watch camera, electronic stability control, and hill assist, among 28 safety features. Honda claims this makes the Amaze the most affordable car in India with ADAS.
The introductory pricing is valid for 45 days, after which prices may increase. Deliveries are expected to begin in January 2025.
