Wed Dec 04 01:30:00 UTC 2024: ## Delhi Air Quality Improves Significantly After Weeks of Severe Pollution
**NEW DELHI** – Delhi’s air quality has dramatically improved in the past few days, moving from “severe” to “moderate” levels. After a month of consistently poor air quality with the Air Quality Index (AQI) remaining above 300 throughout November, the AQI plummeted below 200 on December 4th. At 1 PM on December 4th, the AQI was recorded at 184, a significant improvement from the “hazardous” levels seen previously.
This improvement is attributed to increased wind speeds and a rise in minimum temperatures, which helped disperse pollutants. While an approaching Western Disturbance is expected to bring light rain or cloudy skies to the Delhi-NCR region by December 10th, it’s not anticipated to significantly impact the current improvement.
Although this is welcome news for Delhi residents, the long-term impact remains to be seen. The improvement highlights the significant role of weather patterns in influencing air quality. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
