**Hyderabad, India** – Star Indian T20 batsman Suryakumar Yadav will rejoin the Mumbai team for the final two matches of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT). Yadav, who recently led India to victory in a T20 series against South Africa, missed the initial matches due to personal reasons – his sister’s wedding.
He arrived back in Mumbai on Saturday and travelled to Hyderabad to join the squad. While Mumbai played against Nagaland today, Yadav did not feature in that match. He is expected to play a crucial role in the remaining games, playing under Mumbai captain Shreyas Iyer. Mumbai has had a mixed start to the tournament, winning against Goa and Maharashtra but suffering a loss against Kerala, a match where Yadav’s absence was reportedly felt. The team will look to his explosive batting style to bolster their performance in the final two matches.
