**New Delhi, December 3, 2024** – The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) launched “Mission Spandan” on Monday, a nationwide initiative to combat drug abuse and addiction leveraging the power of spirituality. The program, spearheaded by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, involves partnerships with five major spiritual organizations.
The NCB signed Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Art of Living Foundation, Brahma Kumaris, ISKCON, Sant Nirankari Charitable Foundation, and Shri Ram Chandra Mission. These organizations will spearhead grassroots awareness campaigns and youth-focused programs, while the NCB will provide technical support and educational resources.
NCB Director General Anurag Garg emphasized the initiative’s aim to build resilience and create a drug-free India. The collaboration will focus on community engagement and utilizing the reach of the spiritual organizations to counter drug abuse at a local level. The MoUs were signed by NCB Deputy Director General Anand Prakash Tiwari and representatives from the partnering organizations.
