**PUDUCHERRY, December 2, 2024** – Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan today surveyed areas in Puducherry’s Bahour region inundated by recent flooding. The flooding resulted from a combination of heavy rainfall in Tiruvannamalai, leading to the release of water from the Sathanur Dam, and the aftermath of a recent cyclone.
The Lt. Governor inspected villages and residential areas affected by the deluge from both the cyclone and the dam’s release into the Thenpennaiyar River. The Bahour region was specifically included in a flood warning issued by the Villupuram administration for those living near the riverbanks. The assessment follows days of heavy rain in the Tiruvannamalai district.
