**New Delhi, December 3, 2024** – The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the city slips for the upcoming Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2024. The exam is scheduled for December 14, 2024.

The city slips, available on the official website ctet.nic.in, provide candidates with their allotted exam city, date, and center. These are considered provisional admit cards. Final admit cards are expected to be released two days prior to the exam, on December 12, 2024. Candidates must present their admit cards to gain entry to the examination hall.

The CTET is a national-level exam assessing the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in primary (classes 1-5) and elementary (classes 6-8) education. Passing the exam is a requirement for teaching in central government schools, including Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVS) and Navodaya Vidyalayas (NVS).

Over 2 million candidates are expected to take the exam this year. The 150-minute exam will be held in two shifts: 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM. Two papers will be administered, one for those wishing to teach classes 1-5 and another for classes 6-8. Each paper contains 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with one mark awarded for each correct answer and no negative marking for incorrect answers. The exam is offered in English and Hindi. Exam centers are spread across approximately 243 locations. The exam fee is ₹1000 for general and OBC candidates and ₹500 for SC, ST, and PwD candidates. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official CTET website for updates.
