Mon Dec 02 16:23:17 UTC 2024: ## West Indies’ Seales Achieves Legendary Bowling Figures in Test Match Domination

**Kingston, Jamaica** – Jaydon Seales of the West Indies has etched his name into Test cricket history, delivering a breathtaking bowling performance on Day 2 of the second Test against Bangladesh. Seales took an astonishing 4 wickets for only 5 runs in 15.5 overs, including 10 maidens – a feat that ranks as the seventh best figures in Test history and the most economical bowling spell since 1977.

His incredible economy rate overshadowed even legendary performances by the likes of Bapu Nadkarni (India) and Garry Sobers (West Indies), though Sobers’ 1956 spell remains the only West Indies performance to surpass Seales’ achievement.

Seales’ dominance helped bowl out Bangladesh for a paltry 164 runs, giving the West Indies a commanding lead in the two-match series, which they already lead 1-0. Shadman Islam’s 64 was the top score for Bangladesh, while Shamar Joseph also contributed with 3 wickets for 49 runs.

The West Indies, resuming their innings trailing by 94 runs, reached 70/1 at stumps, with Kraigg Brathwaite (33*) and Keacy Carty (19*) at the crease. Only one West Indies wicket fell, Mikyle Louis being caught behind off Nahid Rana.

Play was hampered on Day 1 by rain and bad light, resulting in only 30 overs bowled. Day 2 also concluded early due to poor light after approximately 80 overs. The West Indies will look to extend their lead significantly on Day 3.
