Mon Dec 02 12:12:01 UTC 2024: ## Skoda Kylaq Sub-4m SUV Launches in India with Prices Starting at ₹7.89 Lakh

**Mumbai, India –** Skoda Auto India has officially launched its highly anticipated sub-4m SUV, the Kylaq, with prices ranging from ₹7.89 lakh to ₹14.4 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks Skoda’s return to the competitive sub-4m segment in India, following the Fabia hatchback. The Kylaq will directly rival popular models like the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV300, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and Tata Nexon.

The Kylaq is available in four variants – Classic, Signature, Signature+, and Prestige – each offering a range of features. The base Classic variant, priced at ₹7.89 lakh, comes with a manual transmission and includes standard safety features like six airbags, LED lighting, and height-adjustable driver’s seat. Higher variants progressively add features such as larger alloy wheels, advanced infotainment systems (with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the top trims), a digital cockpit, automatic climate control, and a sunroof.

Powering the Kylaq is a 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine, generating 114bhp and 178Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox. Skoda claims a 0-100kmph time of 10.5 seconds with the manual transmission.

To incentivize early adoption, Skoda is offering a complimentary 3-year standard maintenance package to the first 33,333 customers, effectively reducing maintenance costs. Bookings for the Kylaq open today at 4 pm, with deliveries commencing on January 27, 2025. The company is optimistic about the Kylaq’s success in the Indian market, given the strong demand for SUVs. A full road test will be necessary to determine whether it lives up to Skoda’s “Thrill of Driving” reputation.
