**Chennai, December 2, 2024** – Skoda Auto India has officially launched its highly anticipated sub-4 meter SUV, the Skoda Kylaq, with bookings opening today. Priced competitively starting at ₹7.89 lakh, the Kylaq aims to challenge established players in the segment like the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV300.

First unveiled in November, the Kylaq boasts impressive specifications. Measuring 3,995 mm in length, 1,783 mm in width, and 1,619 mm in height, it features a 2,566 mm wheelbase and a ground clearance of 189 mm. Powering the Kylaq is a 1.0 TSI engine generating 85 kW of power and 178 Nm of torque, enabling a 0-100 kph acceleration time of 10.5 seconds and a top speed of 188 kph. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic torque converter with paddle shifters in select variants.

Built on the Skoda MQB-A0-IN platform (the same as the Kushaq and Slavia, both awarded 5 stars in global NCAP safety tests), the Kylaq prioritizes safety with 25 active and passive safety features. These include six airbags, traction and stability control, anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), brake disc wiping, rollover protection, motor slip regulation, electronic differential lock, passenger airbag deactivation, multi-collision braking, and ISOFIX child seat anchors.

Skoda describes the Kylaq’s design as “Modern Solid,” featuring a new design language, 3D ribs, and classic headlights. The interior offers comfortable seating for driver and passenger, with electric seats in some variants, and an electric sunroof. Features include a bamboo fiber infused dashboard, a 25.6 cm touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and wireless charging.

Skoda has released detailed variant-wise specifications, allowing customers to choose the trim level that best suits their needs and budget.
