**Hyderabad, December 2, 2024** – The Telangana government has appointed Burra Venkatesham as the new chairman of the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), effective immediately. Mr. Venkatesham, currently serving as Special Chief Secretary (Education), succeeds M. Mahender Reddy, whose term ends on December 3rd. The appointment order specifies a six-year term for Mr. Venkatesham, or until he reaches the age of 62, whichever comes first. Mr. Venkatesham met with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Sunday before the announcement. He will retire from his Special Chief Secretary post before assuming his new role.
