**MUMBAI, INDIA** – Mahindra & Mahindra is generating significant buzz following the successful launch of its first electric SUVs. The company has now released details about its next electric vehicle, the XEV.8e (also referred to by some as the XUV700 electric due to design similarities). This off-road capable SUV boasts a range of impressive features and technologies.
The XEV.8e will offer multiple drive modes tailored to different terrains and driver preferences. These include “Fun,” “Fast,” and “Fearless” modes for power control, as well as a dedicated “Snow” mode and others designed for optimal performance on various surfaces.
Inside, the cabin will mirror the features found in the recently launched BE 6e and XEV 9e, featuring a three-screen setup, a two-spoke illuminated steering wheel, VisionX augmented reality heads-up display, park assist, ambient lighting, NFC keyless entry, a smart tailgate, follow-me-home lights, and welcome animation DRLs. A six-seat configuration with multi-zone climate control completes the luxurious interior.
Externally, the XEV.8e showcases a distinctive design, previously shown in concept form. Key elements include a new front fascia with L-shaped DRLs and triangular headlamp housings linked by an LED strip, complemented by an illuminated logo. Its silhouette is reminiscent of the XUV700, but with new alloy wheels.
While specific powertrain details remain undisclosed, the XEV.8e will utilize Mahindra’s INGLO platform. This suggests a potential range exceeding 500 km, likely utilizing similar battery pack options (59 kWh and 79 kWh) as the BE 6e and XEV 9e. Further details regarding pricing and release date are expected soon.
