**Hassan, Karnataka –** A 27-year-old IPS probationer, Harsh Bardhan, died in a road accident near Hassan on Sunday evening. Bardhan, a 2023 batch officer, was traveling to Holenarasipur to report for duty when the police vehicle he was in hit a house after a tire burst. The accident occurred on the Hassan-Mysuru road near Kittane in Hassan taluk.
The driver, Manje Gowda, suffered minor injuries and is receiving treatment. Locals rescued both men from the wrecked vehicle and transported them to a private hospital in Hassan. Bardhan succumbed to his injuries later that evening.
Bardhan, the son of a civil servant and homemaker from Madhya Pradesh, was unmarried. His family is expected to arrive in Bengaluru on Monday. The incident marks a tragic end to his career before he could complete his training.
