**Hassan, Karnataka/Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh –** Harshvardhan Singh, a 2023 batch IPS officer from the Karnataka cadre, tragically died in a road accident on Sunday. The accident occurred approximately 45 kilometers from Hassan, where Singh was traveling to join his first posting as an Additional SP. His car suffered a tire blowout, leading to the fatal crash.
Singh, the son of Akilesh Singh, an SDM posted in Devsar, Madhya Pradesh, had recently completed his training. He was traveling from Mysore when the accident occurred. His family, originally from Saharsa, Bihar, has traveled to Hassan. His post-mortem has been conducted, and his final rites will be performed in Varanasi.
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed his condolences, stating the loss of such a young officer is a tragedy for the nation. Former Karnataka Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda also offered his condolences. The incident has sent shockwaves through the police force and the community.
