Mon Dec 02 06:30:03 UTC 2024: ## Delhi Air Quality Shows Slight Improvement, Remains ‘Poor’

**New Delhi, December 2, 2024** – Delhi’s air quality saw a slight improvement on Monday, moving from “very poor” to “poor,” but still posing health risks. The Air Quality Index (AQI) registered 273, a decrease from Sunday’s 285. This marks the first time the AQI has been in the “poor” category since October 29th, following a 32-day stretch of “very poor” and “severe” air quality.

Experts attribute the improvement to dry northwesterly winds and increased sunlight, which helped disperse pollutants. However, with an AQI of 273, the air quality remains harmful to sensitive groups. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reported a minimum temperature of 10.4° Celsius and predicted a maximum of 27° Celsius for Monday. Humidity levels were recorded at 89%. While the improvement is a welcome sign, Delhi residents are urged to take necessary precautions as the air quality remains far from ideal.
