HINDOLI, [Date of Publication] – Six individuals have been arrested in Hindoli for allegedly torturing a woman they accused of witchcraft. The accused, identified as Babulal (31), Ghorla Tarachand (31), Mohnibai (48), Tonabai (28), Gourabai (28), and Sonabai (30), all residents of Kasahali village, are accused of branding the victim with a hot iron, blackening her face, and parading her through the village.
According to police reports, the victim and her son filed a complaint on November 29th at the Hindoli police station. The victim stated that she had visited Kasahali village on November 24th seeking treatment for her son’s stomach ache. She alleges that the six accused then subjected her to the brutal assault, claiming she was possessed by an evil spirit.
The incident prompted a swift response from law enforcement. ASP Uma Sharma visited the Hindoli police station on Saturday morning to oversee the investigation, followed by SP Rajendra Kumar Meena who personally interrogated the suspects. All six have been arrested and charged. The police have described the case as serious.
